    I know you’ve stated multiple times there is no estimated release date for M4, but if you HAD to say, do you think it would be finished in the next six months?

  2. avatar Jojora Says:

    I’m going to guess that the first song is the main villain’s theme? It has that “Porky’s Theme” feel to it.

  3. avatar Zephys Says:

    Actually it’s just a battle theme.

  4. avatar Itoi's Apprentice Says:

    Not sure if it was just intentional or the audio scratched a little, but at the end of the video the level up fanfare seemed kind weird. Just me?

  5. avatar The Dave Says:

    Might be a Youtube thing. Did you try a higher quality?

  6. avatar BusterTheFox Says:

    I can totally tell which one is the theme played after you stay in the Inn… The one near the center-end of the vid? And also, if you’ll notice, the last one sounds different from the one posted in the level-up theme’s update. I’m pretty sure that’s for when you beat a Boss enemy.

    The FIRST one is a battle theme? I never would’ve guessed, honestly! It just doesn’t have that feel to it.

    One of the songs in there kept on speeding up and slowing back down. Kinda gives me hope that Sound Battles are back, but I kinda doubt it a bit since there’s lag between keyboard and PC. But with the magic of programming, anything’s possible, I suppose.

    Now I can’t wait even more to play this. I’ve gotten stuck in Mother 3, so now I’ve got nothing to sate my trippy-awesome-heartrending game need! :D

  7. avatar Zephys Says:

    Sound battles are back. They work fine, too, even on a gamepad.

    Also, grind, m’boy, grind!

  8. avatar The Dave Says:

    Sound battles didn’t work well in emulated Mother 3 because of timing issues in the emulator. There isn’t really any perceivable latency between the keyboard/gamepad and the computer, so it’s not a problem.

  9. avatar Itoi's Apprentice Says:

    Yeah I think it was intentional. It sounded like you held that last note for a little longer. It just seemed kinda odd is all.

  10. avatar Cousin of God Robert Says:

    Really looking forward to this music. Being a game for the PC, soundware isn’t limited by anything, so I can expect some real masterpieces that even remixing won’t be able to beat.

    @Senn: I’ve been wondering that too… Like, down to the 6 months thing, actually. Kind of creepy. Seriously though, he raises a good question that I’m sure a lot of us are wanting to know. Can we expect Mother 4 within the next several months?

  11. avatar The Dave Says:

    Not in the next several months.

    And something wonky is going on with the dates. You’ll notice Senn’s post is from “November 29th, 1999 at 8:00 pm”. I’ll look into that.

  12. avatar the-rope-snake Says:

    Senn must be a time-traveller.

    Only possible explanation.

  13. avatar blueflower999 Says:

    Hey, I noticed in the screenshot Travis doesn’t have one of those bars next to his HP and PP meters. The FAQ calls it a “secret” and I’ve wanted to know what they were for, but now it’s gone! What happened?

  14. avatar The Dave Says:

    Is it gone? Or is it just … different?

  15. avatar Itoi's Apprentice Says:

    @blueflower999 Could be one of the icons above Travis?

  16. avatar stitch Says:

    @Itoi’s Apprentice

    Good ear. There is indeed a disagreeable chord in there. Odd is what we do, it was intentional.

  17. avatar Davidx Says:

    i got a unrelated question.. when will you guys make a clay model of Meryl?

  18. avatar Itoi's Apprentice Says:

    @Davidx

    It’s not them that make the clay models. Its FlintofMother3. Flint isn’t part of the Mother 4 team but he contributed by making the Travis (Or Chase, I’m still kind fuzzy about that) model. Here is Flints deviantART page, maybe you can submit a commission for him. http://flintofmother3.deviantart.com/

  19. avatar slainender Says:

    snobody you are sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo awesome

  20. avatar Nyah Says:

    @Itoi’s Apprentice
    On the subject of the secret bar

    I think the bar has been converted into the background for the box that shows the HP/PP. You’ll notice that the box has a different shading at the top than at the bottom.

  21. avatar Itoi's Apprentice Says:

    Maybe… Hmp. I never thought about it like that. I merely thought it was the design of the box. Thanks

  22. avatar BusterTheFox Says:

    Grind indeed. This is actually my second playthrough of Mother 3 because my original save file got corrupted. :< But I've been trying to do a higher-level play-through this time around now that I know all of the best techniques and stuff to use.

    Derp. Emulated Mother 3. I should say I knew that. X'D I play it on real hardware now, though…

    *Queue me being excited about Sound Battles*

    I have to get a PC 360 controller for this… It would be like… Playing Mother 4 on my XBOX 360. O_o

    @ Nyah
    Now I need to check the screenshot again. That would be really cool if it were true. Although I don't know what the bars are used for, I think that's a much cooler idea.

  23. avatar Zephys Says:

    Just reminding the public; Mother 4 WILL be gamepad compatible. That includes Xbox 360 controllers.

  24. avatar Itoi's Apprentice Says:

    @BusterTheFox

    I know exactly how you feel. I was fighting the Masked Man at the end of the game on my Wii and I lost. So I decided to load my last saved game, just to avoid losing items and stuff… I loaded my last saved session, so I had to restart from the junkyard while fighting the clayman. I’m done with emulation. Time to bust out the credit card and by some REAL games…

  25. avatar BusterTheFox Says:

    @Zephys
    Yay~, now I feel like I reminded of of something. 8D I helped, yay~!

    @Itoi’s Apprentice
    Dang, that’s pretty much losing half of your progress through the game. Just that STORY makes me feel sad.
    Luckily for me, I had already defeated him and everything. I was just trying to grind to a really high level on the enemies around there to see if it made the fight any easier.
    On another subject, it was hard to find the Masked Man’s beat, huh? When I found the beat of his song, I was like, “YES, I feel so awesome now. Masks cannot defeat me!” *Lifeup B*

  26. avatar Ryutto Says:

    You guys are just awesome, this game has me soooooo pumped up!

  27. avatar Jennithebaker Says:

    Guysssss! I remembered this was going on and seeing this made my whole week. It looks like you are all putting in so much hard work and creativity while sticking to the heart of the Mother series. You are all fantastic and can’t wait til I can play it!

  28. avatar PKRockin Says:

    I know this is random but are you all gonna do something for Christmas? (or Haunaka or however you spell it)

  29. avatar Itoi's Apprentice Says:

    What? No Christmas update?

  30. avatar TheKing Says:

    This place has been quiet. Too quiet …………. hmm ……

  31. avatar TheKing Says:

    Great Scott, I found it. Look, did anyone else notice the new screenshot?
