Location, Location, Location

Every once in a while, we all have to step back and look at the big picture; to see what lies beyond us, where we truly belong, what we really are….and, sometimes, we just need to know where to slap down a city. Today’s update is going to look at how we do one of those things, and it’s not the first three. That’s right, today, Mars is talking about map-making.
why is the perspective different than the other exterior screenshots? The shots of the town and city have all been using the oblique perspective from earthbound, but this shot seems to have a straight forward perspective ala mother 3. (I notice you’re using the m3 perspective for the insides but that is irrelevant)
@ nekoaitsu: I agree.
After seeing the first sketch of the city, I thought, “Well, that eastern part must the the main entrance”. Then, after seeing it come together, I figured it must be a rather important part of the town in any case.
Then I saw the screenshot.
“OOOHHH MAI GAAAWWWSHHHH they showed it in finished form!!1!!11!”
I LOVE the purple palette. I love night colors to begin with! Just that one screenshot makes me feel like if I were there, it would be peaceful, the soft sound of water rushing below, a soft breeze blowing on my face. I’ll probably never get to relax there, but I can’t wait to get there when I play the finished game!
Man, I kind of fast-scrolling the page because HOLY FUCK SOME REAL PROGRESS RIGHT OVER THERE IT ALMOST FEELS LIKE SPOILER. So, yeah, I didn’t see much, but what I’ve seen looks awesome.
Great! It looks like that screencap of the bridge might even be one of the bridges on the east side of town!
